I can’t believe August is tomorrow! July felt like a whirlwind month! After over planning in June, I was going to plan less things in July and that turned into not planning any Vibrant Badass events. I will hopefully plan a few events coming up in the next few weeks but will also be focusing on a fitness challenge that I’m doing with my husband and a few friends!
The 8 week challenge will run from Monday August 1st through Friday September 23rd. We will be taking pictures, measurements and weight every Monday morning and then on the final Friday.
Within the 8 weeks, there are 9 focus areas.
- Water – drinking a gallon of H2O daily to stay hydrated in the extreme summer heat.
- Exercise – move your body 3x/week. I’m mostly going to be doing Burn Boot Camp for this but might throw in other forms of exercise as well.
- Sleep – shoot for 7-8 hours each night. I’ll be tracking with my Whoop!
- Food – cook at home instead of eating out. I will still go out to restaurants some but reduce the amount dramatically. Excited to see all the fun recipes we will try.
- Snacks – eliminate fast food and junk food. This one will be challenging but will be helped by the next part.
- Fresh – eat 4-5 servings of fruit & veggies daily. This is an area where I definitely struggle. I eat a lot of meat and bread to the point that fruits and veggies are an afterthought but I’m going to be intentional about adding them into my diet.
- Grow – meditate, read or journal daily.
- Explore – play outside or some something new. This will include golfing, local events, concerts and other random things I don’t even know about yet!
- Self-care – take intentional time to do something for yourself. This could be as simple as 30 seconds of silence or more luxurious like a massage. So many options!
I’ll be posting on my Vibrant Badass instagram as I go along with the challenge. I make a weekly tracker to keep up with all the focus areas and it is hanging up in my bathroom. I’ll also put it on my insta story!
I prepared for the week by grocery shopping at Aldi and washing my fruits and veggies.

Wish me luck! I can’t wait to see how this challenge goes and see how I’m feeling in 8 weeks. The journey of adding in positive habits intentionally will be fun even when it is hard. Cheers friends!
