100 Day Challenge – Part 1

A recap of the first ten days of the Vibrant Badass 100 adventure. Let me know how you are doing with the prompts so far! Ninety more days to go! Excited to see all the adventures we can share over the next few months!

Day 1 – Write down your big dreams and life wishes. Think huge on this one. Literally write it all down on paper or type all of them out. Visualize the things you want to do, the lifestyle you want to live, your ideal financial situation, the legacy you want to build. What are the accomplishments for which you want to be known? What kind of impact do you want to make on your community and your world? Take a few minutes to dream about your future life, the best fullest version of your life, and write it out. 

Day 2 – Eat your favorite food. Pizza, tacos, steak and oysters – those are my favorites. For this challenge I want you to eat one of yours. When you do, I want you to savor it! Tell me what your favorite foods are and if you ate the food at a restaurant or made it at home. 

Day 3 – Take the scenic route. You can take the scenic route in your everyday driving or with upcoming holiday travels. While you are out running errands, drive by a lake or river or greenway. While you are on a road trip, find a cool place to see along the way. Last weekend on the way back from a mountain trip, instead of taking the highway the whole time, my husband and I jumped on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a while! It was such a beautiful drive and we stopped at some of the overlooks. 

Day 4 – Make someone smile. See how many smiles you can get! Throughout the day, think of anything you can do to make the people around you smile and do those things. Say hello, give a compliment, crack a joke. Do something that brings joy to someone around you!

Day 5 – Go a full day without complaining. Good vibes only. Try to go ALL DAY. Think about the positive things happening and objectively and calmly react to anything negative that comes up for you. Complaining generally makes the annoying things bigger than they need to be so try to catch yourself! 

Day 6 – Clear your schedule. Give yourself permission to say no to some things in order to have space to say yes to the things that make you feel alive. Or just space for downtime in the midst of the holiday season. Cancel meetings that can be emails. Decline events and social invitations that you don’t want to attend. Book non-negotiable free time for yourself. Wait to commit to an event rather than saying yes right away. What are other ways you can make your schedule more enjoyable and less overwhelming?

Day 7 – Go down a street you’ve never seen. Walk or drive. Find a new street to explore. It can be commercial or residential. You can do this while walking around your neighborhood or while driving around town doing errands. See what kind of magic you can find.

Day 8 – Try a new restaurant. Going to restaurants and trying new places is an amazing way to expand your horizons. Look up some recent restaurant openings in your city and support the new venture! Go to the place you have been meaning to try but haven’t yet. Ask a friend for a recommendation on a spot to try. Level up the adventure by trying a food you have never eaten at the new restaurant. 

Day 9 – Do whatever you want all day. Imagine it. What would your dream day look like if you didn’t have any plans? How would you spend your time? Wake up in the morning without any plans for the day and decide what you want to do moment by moment. This is building off the clear your schedule challenge. When you give yourself the space to have free time, what would you do with it? Some ideas to get your brain running – read, take a bubble bath, journal, sit outside, go on a walk, go to a museum, cook your favorite food, go shopping at your favorite store, drink tea/coffee, hangout with a friend, catch up on a tv show you love, quality time chilling with your family, or play with your pets. 

Day 10 – Experience art. Go to a museum or exhibit. Find some murals in your city. Attend a performance. There is so much beauty in the world expressed through art. When you find the art piece, really soak it in. You can also experience art through your own creativity in making your own!
