Day 41– Embrace hygge vibes. Do something cozy today. The Danish concept of hygge is all about comfort, connection and contentment. Winter is the best time to embrace it! Google the word and you will find articles and books written about the Scandinavian lifestyle. A few ways to add to your day – wear soft socks, drink a warm beverage, read a book snuggled under a blanket, light a candle, unplug from electronics, and connect with loved ones. In this season of being very busy, take some time to slow down and enjoy your life.

Day 42 – Factime friends and family. Connect with loved ones you haven’t seen in person in a while and catch up on life!

Day 43 – Read one of the top books of 2022. Find a good one. This time of year there are so many lists of best books of the year – pick one that perks your interest. Use google or pinterest to get to a fun list. I’m a member of the Book of the Month club and each December, I get a free Book of the Year finalist book! It’s also fun to see books you have already read on the top lists! Let me know what some of your faves were this year or what you are going to read next!

Day 44 – Take 5 minutes for yourself. Do it for you. It’s easy to get caught up in all that is going on between traveling, family, cooking, and getting ready for tomorrow but the challenge today is to take 5 minutes to do something completely for you. Let me know what that looks like!

Day 45 – Ask interesting questions. Really listen to the answers. Whoever you are with, ask them some questions to get to know them better and learn more about them. Some suggestions to get your brain flowing –

  • What would constitute a perfect day for you?
  • What color reflects your personality and why?
  • What are some of your favorite books? This could be general or books read this year.
  • What is a defining childhood memory from elementary/middle/high school?
  • Where is your favorite place you have traveled? Where do you want to travel?
  • If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be?
  • What was the happiest moment of your life?
  • What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
  • What. are you most looking forward to in 2023?
  • What actor/actress would play you in a movie about your life?

Day 46 – Eat your fave gas station snack. You might be traveling or you stayed home for the holidays, but either way you can stop by a gas station to pick up some snacks. Think about when you were little and your parents gave you $10 on a road trip, what would you buy? My favorite is a slim jim! When my husband and I take road trips we grab slim jims and beef jerky. Other snacks I love are hot fries and cheddar jalapeño Cheetos. What is your favorite?

Day 47 – Make a 2022 highlights list. All the top things for your year. Write down all the things you want to remember about this year. This could be physical or digital, whatever works for you! Let me know some of your highlights! You could break it out into groups or one big list. Think about big wins, accomplishments, trips you took, meals you ate, books you read, things you celebrated and the people who made an impact on your life.

Day 48 – Enhance your space. This could be any area of your life – your home, your car, your office. Do something to make the space feel better. Ideas below –

  • Declutter or organize a specific area
  • Clean out your closet
  • Clear off your work space
  • Decorate a wall
  • Get a new pillow or blanket
  • Tackle a project you have been dreaming about
  • Paint the walls
  • Clear out your fridge or pantry
  • Deep clean your bathroom
  • Light a nice candle

Day 49 – Watch the sunset. As we close out 2022, take time to relax and think about all that you are grateful for within the last year. May you be filled with peace that you did the best you could within your circumstances. Cheers to the last year and the last couple days before we enter into a new year!

Day 50 – Knock things off your to do list. Take some time to do tasks that have been in the back of your mind so that you can clear the mental clutter going into the new year. This could be cleaning up around the house, tackling boring things like an oil change, running errands or anything else on your list. My list includes returning an old iphone to AT&T, taking an old laptop to Staples to be recycled and hitting some closets of random things in order to purge stuff that I no longer need.

BONUS Day – Drink champagne. Happy New Year! I’m so excited to see all the adventures that 2023 holds. Today I’m so grateful for the past year! Celebrate all the good and the bad and everything in between the last 365 days.
