The last 20 days of the Vibrant Badass 100 Challenge!

Day 81– Make a playlist for the year. Whenever you hear a song that you like, add it to the playlist. Keep doing this throughout the whole year. I have been doing this for the past few years and its been so fun. Whenever I see someone post a song on their story, I’ll listen to it and add it if I like it. Spotify will also start to recommend songs for the playlist so it’s a fun way to discover new music.

Day 82 – Celebrate the season. This fell on St. Brigid’s Day on February 1st which I always treat as a personal holiday. Imbolc is the mid-point between Winter and Spring solstice

Day 83 – Celebrate random family holidays. Do something special. In my house we like to celebrate a lot of things like our engagement-iversary, our pets birthdays/gotcha days, 11/11, and the day I almost bought a corvette. Do you have any traditions like this? Let me know if you already do or if you start some new ones!

Day 84 – Buy yourself flowers. Or a coffee. Or a Baja blast. Treat yourself to anything fun that brings you joy.

Day 85 – Do something that feels good. This could be as simple as putting on your most comfortable outfit or you could level up by running yourself a nice hot bath. 🛀🏻 Or maybe you are like my little pup BooBoo and it feels good to roll around on the floor.

Day 86 – Buy some Girl Scout cookies. Support a local Girl Scout!

Day 87 – Habit stack. Add a new habit onto an existing one to make it easier and less intimidating. You can meditate when you drink your morning coffee. You can kiss your partner right after hanging up your keys when you get home. Habit stacking helps decrease the brain-load of starting a new thing by adding onto your normal routine.

Day 88 – Try a new condiment. Maybe do the hot sauce challenge if you are feeling extra adventurous! We tried five hot sauces on pizza rolls! Or you could mix some flavors in your fridge together to make a secret sauce. What is your favorite condiment? I’m team Ranch.

Day 89 – Send something in the mail. This could be a postcard, hand written letter, greeting card, random present, a potato or anything you want. Make someone smile with an unexpected piece of mail.

Day 90 – Go see a movie in theaters. My friend and I watched A Man Called Otto! I cried a lot in the best way. It was at Paragon Theaters in Fenton so there is a full menu of options that get delivered right to your movie seat! We had nachos, a burger, pretzels and cocktails. 🎥

Day 91– Make a list of your favorite things. Physically write down all the things you love. After you do this, intentionally do something related to one of these things within the next week.

Day 92 – Go to brunch. Make a reservation and get your friends together!

Day 93 – Have fun with cocktails. I went to an event at Heights House in Raleigh where Will Bryant, the cocktail manager, was making incredible cocktails including the Vita which is one of the newest ones. One of my goals for 2023 is to make interesting cocktails at home and I’m always inspired by the ones that Will makes! If you are in Raleigh, def check out this spot!

Day 94 – Identify the rose of your day. You say three things about your day – the good (petals), the bad (thorn) and the interesting (stem). 🥀 🌹

Day 95 – Show love in an unconventional way. At our wedding, instead of doing a traditional exit like sparklers or something, my husband and I decided our reception finale was us jumping into the pool together. Do something fun for someone in your life today that is an unexpected expression of love!

Day 96 – Be silly. Let yourself be unfiltered and not think about what other people think. Let loose and be 100% you.

Day 97 – Intentionally use all five senses. Taste, touch, hearing, smell and sight. Throughout the day, take a moment to use each one and savor the experience. 👀 👄 👂 ✋🏻 👃

Day 98 – Do something scary for you. Face one of your fears. A big scary thing my husband and I are doing is moving across the country from Raleigh, NC to Tampa, FL. Yours doesn’t have to be that major but do something that scares you a little bit.

Day 99 – Eat something iconic or famous. You could do oysters in the Northeast, lobsters in Maine, cheesecake in New York, hot dogs in Chicago or BBQ in Texas. We did this one with cheese steaks in Philadelphia.

Day 100 – Create your own adventure. We made it through Vibrant Badass 100! 100 days of adventures to end 2022 and start 2023! How are you feeling?! What have been your favorite moments?

I intentionally invited adventure into my life and so much has happened! The last 100 days have been full of so many emotions across the full spectrum of the human experience. I am excited to see what is in store for all of us this year.
