This blog is all about coming up with fun facts for yourself so you never have to feel awkward during an ice breaker ever again. You are a beautiful complex human being that has lived a lot of years on this planet so I know you have some interesting things to say. Having a few go to personal fun facts about yourself can help you feel confident in situations where you are meeting new people.
Check out the topics below for fun fact inspiration!
places
Think about where you have lived and where you have traveled. This could include numbers like how many states you have called home or how many countries you have visited. You can connect with other people by discussing experiences of the places you have both been. If you are into sports, you could talk about the teams you love. If you are more into food, you can talk about restaurants and regional dishes you enjoy.
accomplishments
Throughout the course of your life, what are you proud of doing so far? You could also use family member accomplishments for this one. Think about things you have won or awards you’ve earned. You could go for school and work related ideas. What are some challenges you have overcome in your life? What are some skills you have learned? What goals have you set for yourself and completed?
hobbies + interests
Talk about things that you enjoy doing in your free time. The more obscure the better. It is so interesting to hear people talk about things they love. Do you have any collections? Are you in any clubs? You have seen *your fave band* x times or watched *your fave movie or tv show* x times. Other interests could include books, podcasts, games, or types of food.
uniqueness
What are some things about you that are only true for you? Do you have any weird abilities? This could also include languages you speak if you know more than one. Do you have any unique memories of significant events? Have you been on a tv show, movie, or music video? Is there a story behind the name your parents gave you? Talk about your guilty pleasures.
never done + dislikes
The last fun fact idea direction is to think of things you have never done that many people have or things you dislike that most people do. Some examples are having never seen Star Wars, read Harry Potter, or gone to Taco Bell. Or substitute any other popular ideas. For dislikes, go in the direction of lighthearted but slightly shocking like foods or pop culture references. This could also include fears or phobias.
